SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is a unique and interesting turn-based strategy. While the focus might not be as much on expanding your empire as it is in games like Civilization, the focus instead of questlines, story, and the world's lore enriches the game and places it in another category altogether. If you're a fan of turn-based strategy and tactical turn-based battles, SpellForce: Conquest of EO might just be the game for you. As a bonus, SpellForce: Conquest of Eo works flawlessly on the Steam Deck, with a good control scheme and the ability to run the game at 30 FPS with no issues.
Read full review ↗Spellforce: Conquest of Eo is an interesting departure from the classic Spellforce series, emphasizing turn-based battles and drawing stylistic inspiration from games like Age of Wonders and Heroes of Might and Magic. This change may not appeal to everyone, especially fans and veterans of the series. However, thanks to its intuitive and simple gameplay, it opens the door to newcomers who would like to explore the Spellforce universe but have avoided it so far. Seven out of ten.

Read full review ↗SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is a fun mix between RPG and Turn-Based Strategy that should please the most passionate fans of the genre and delivers an accessible entry point for the curious, even if it leaves a little to be desired at certain points.
Read full review ↗SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is not, most likely, a game that fans of the original series will love. It's a solid turn-based strategy game, but it's not really remarkable or innovative in any way.
Read full review ↗SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is a special game. On the one hand, it is based on an old, classic recipe, which was abandoned after the breakup of Microprose, the dominance of Heroes of Might and Magic and the strategy RPG philosophy.
Read full review ↗SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is a superbly average game. The combat is standard turn-based at best and, in some cases, can borderline be painful and tedious. The narrative has some interesting moments, and the unique RPG aspects make the game far more engaging, especially in those non-combat moments. It's a game that does not reinvent anything, and in fact, the biggest sin of this title is the sin of 'safety'.
Read full review ↗SpellForce: Conquest of Eo is quite a well-made game, but it takes too much from the best genre entries and gives too little as an original product.
Read full review ↗Everything is very simple and fun in SpellForce: Conquest of Eo due to the bare-bones 4X gameplay, where the important thing is almost exclusively to come out victorious in battles in order to advance in the main story and side quests. Turn-based combat is the game's highlight, tactical but fast-paced. The offering probably won't please all SpellForce fans, but it will certainly enlist new ones.
Read full review ↗Fans of the Spellforce franchise may balk at the absence of the usual RTS/RPG mashup mechanics. Spellforce: Conquest of Eo hops on the turn-based train, but the game is every bit as engaging as earlier entries in the series. It’s just different. Even players a little fatigued by the glut of turn-based RPGs should give it a go, as the game’s combat is accessible and fun. In all honesty, I’m personally hoping the next numbered game in the franchise returns to its roots, but this change in direction has its own pleasures.
