SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide isn't going to blow anyone away, but it's a perfectly decent 3D platformer that mostly captures the energy of the show. Swapping between SpongeBob and Patrick is a neat mechanic that's used very well throughout, and levels are big and varied as you explore Bikini Bottom and talk to its populace, all of whom are voiced by the proper cast. It definitely has some rough edges and some soft writing, and it won't win over any SpongeBob detractors, but it's a good all-ages game for both kids and longtime fans.

If you are a fan of the other games in this cycle of platform adventures, you are going to love Titans of the Tide. It's another colourful, funny SpongeBob adventure from Purple Lamp and, just like the cartoon, repeat viewings don't tend to lessen the magic. The formula is starting to show its age now, but it's still the best virtual Bikini Bottom we've got.

Switching between Patrick and SpongeBob, combined with the game’s smooth, polished playability, easily makes Titans of the Tide’s best features stand out. This is a breezy and enjoyable 3D platformer that will please fans of the cartoon and even fans of 3D platformers in general. It looks great and feels great, but there is no mistaking that it's a surprisingly light package that leaves users wanting.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is a solidly crafted game that, while it doesn’t take risks with experimental mechanics, executes what it does with near-perfect precision. For fans of the show, it’s a must-play that surpasses previous installments, especially thanks to Patrick Star’s full integration into the gameplay. If you’re looking for a fun, visually captivating platformer that stays true to its source material and offers several hours of genuine fun, you’ve come to the right place.

"SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide" is a visually impressive, modern remaster that features great humor and atmosphere, making it a worthwhile experience for fans, despite some gameplay flaws, such as a weak camera and simple combat.

Titans of Tide is another strong SpongeBob platformer from Purple Lamp and has plenty of fan service for those even slightly familiar with the cartoon. The Plankton Challenges are really fun, so it's a shame that they are locked behind either busywork or microtransactions. As a total package it doesn't quite reach the heights of Cosmic Shake or Battle for Bikini Bottom but it's still a solid game.

With a capital F for Fun, this aquatic adventure is filled with returning characters, call outs from the show and movies plus more than enough gags for you to soak up. Don’t expect anything too deep or inventive as this is still a short platformer for older kids. In saying that, if you’re looking for a chill game and was a fan of SpongeBob back in the noughties like me, then you’ll enjoy it as much as being a goofy Goober!

Titans of the Tide delivers a fun, funny, and surprisingly varied adventure. Even with technical hiccups holding it back, I enjoyed most of my time exploring Bikini Bottom’s ghostly makeover. Fans of SpongeBob will love the humor, and platformer fans will find plenty to latch onto—just be ready to wrangle that camera and denizens of the underwater world more than you’d like.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is kind of like comfort food for 3D platforming fans. Even if you aren’t a fan of the TV series, it still delivers the kind of action you want with a minimum of fuss, and it’s not like you need to know the show very well to keep up with what’s going on. It wraps all that up in a solidly competent package, which means that if you’re a fan of the genre, you could do a lot worse than picking this up.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide is the best SpongeBob game since Battle for Bikini Bottom, and in some respects, it’s even better. Purple Lamp finally has the mix of realness, smart mechanics, and expressive appeal that the series has been looking for for years.
