With its eye-catching visual style, harmonious soundtrack, and fantastic traversal, Symphonia has pogoed its way onto the list of great precision platformers.

Symphonia represents a welcome starting point for players who want to cut their teeth on a more approachable precision platformer. Its difficulty curve is a gentle one, so those looking for something a bit more fiendish may want to skip this concert. The softlocking was frustrating but I enjoyed my time with the fairly brisk campaign.

Despite a few rare missteps, I still very much enjoyed Symphonia. I’ve played several games published by Headup Games, but this is one of the best. It’s colorful, whimsical and features precise and fluid controls. If it had just been a little bit longer and offered more reasons to keep playing (other than the infuriating Shadow Chase mode), I think it would have gotten a perfect score. As it stands, fans of platforming that are in the mood for a quick burn should absolutely check this musical adventure out.

The challenge didn’t always click for me, verging a little too close to frustrating at times. But for fans of artistic platformers or those looking for something fresh and innovative, Symphonia is well worth picking up.

Symphonia 𝄞 is a gloriously fun precision platformer with beautiful worlds, fabulous scores, excellent gameplay, and fun replayability. Most importantly, for me, it carries an important message about the importance of music, and its role in the world. It’s a must play if you’re a fan of platforming, enjoy music and a bit of a challenge; you’ll have an amazing time.

It takes a little while to grow on you but once you get in the groove, Symphonia will quickly become one of your favourite platformers. 🎻
