Why play it

TowerPrincess is a 3D action-platformer that recovers the spirit of the classical adventure games, as Zelda, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet & Clank or Mario, and merges it with roguelike mechanics! This means that the dungeon, the rewards, the challenges or even the character will be procedural, making every gameplay unique! It's a parody of the classical "knight who enters into the dragon's castle and rescues the princess". Only that this time one does not just "rescue the princess". The knight will have to date her while goes through the dungeon, before the evil Dragon notices him and burns everything down!

Story and worldbuilding

Once upon a time, in a Far Away Land, an Evil Dragon took prisoner every royal heir he could meet. Lots of worthy suitors of every kingdom tried to face the beast, without success. Now it's your turn! You'll have to do your best to beat the dungeon, defeat the dragon, and manage the most perfect date!

Action, adventure and simple 3D platforming, which does not particularly stand out mechanically, but for a visual selection that mimics the VHS movies of dragons, princesses and dungeons with style.

Tower Princess's underlying concept of rescuing princesses with unique abilities and teaming up with them to escape a castle is very charming; unfortunately, the rest of the game doesn't quite live up to it. Add in poor Switch performance and a lack of room variety, and most players will likely get bored before they near the end of the castle. There are some good ideas here, but they just don't quite come to fruition like they should.

Tower Princess is a 3D rogue-lite inspired by some of the best in the genre, and teaches you how they can be done quite poorly.
