Train Sim World 5 shunts the series forward with a number of smaller improvements. While the base package feels a bit unnecessary, it's effectively a free client upgrade for existing expansion owners, and therefore worth your time. Of the new routes included with the Deluxe Edition, we really love the West Coast Main Line, and the other two additions bring their own character and challenges. We just hope, moving forwards, the franchise starts to live up to its moniker – it's Train Sim World, not Train Sim UK USA Germany.

It’s a lot of fun to drive trains, and this is a great game for anyone with any slight interest in trains or looking for something relaxing to play and might be done with something like Powerwash Simulator. There are enough updates in Train Sim World 5 to get excited about moving to the new game, and all previous DLC is compatible as well from my understanding, which is a massive plus side.

The fifth version of Train Sim World from Dovetail Games impresses with many small and large improvements. The simulator has been made even more user-friendly, especially for beginners and casual gamers who just want to get a taste of the world of trains. It is also nice to see that the update is now free for owners of Train Sim World 4 and that the included routes can be purchased separately.

Another solid entry into the franchise, Train Sim World 5 may not feature enough to feel like a brand-new game, but it's still absolutely first class when it comes to train simulators.

Train Sim World 5 builds on the previous games and just keeps getting better. You won’t find a more true-to-life simulation of train driving. The beauty of the yearly releases means that you can pull across any previous routes you’ve purchased and have them all accessible at any given time. The introduction of conductor mode brings a new aspect of working a train from the perspective of the exterior of the driving cab. If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber then there has never been a better time to give it a go if you haven’t tried it. If you’re a fan of previous games or just into your traction, then you will find hundreds of hours of gameplay here if you want to divulge in the hundreds of timetable scenarios both in the driving seat or dispatching trains from stations. The creator club will allow you to customise and curtail your experience alongside creating your very own scenarios. Train Sim World 5 is the best in the genre and the greatest it’s ever been.
