Vesper: Zero Light Edition might've needed to stay in the oven a bit longer, but there's still a decent game here for puzzle platformer fans. The heaviness of the time-based stuff combined with fiddly Switch controls and your slow-moving android eventually takes a toll. But when the puzzle mechanic works unencumbered, it's clever and satisfying, and the audio/visual package goes a long way. With better balancing, Cordens Interactive should have a hit with their next release.

Vesper: Zero Light Edition is a tense, stunning, and cinematic platform-adventure game that any genre fans should add to their collection. Wait till the sun goes down, or whip out your own Drive Gun to absorb the light in your room, boot up your Switch on the big screen or undock your OLED and immerse yourself in the gorgeous colors, sublime sound design, and cleverly haunting world of Vesper: Zero Light Edition.

Vesper on Nintendo Switch is a success: the porting brings to Nintendo Switch an adventure with a wow-factor that amazes. You'll have only to surpass a few flaws of conversion.

I feel conflicted after roughly five hours with Vesper: Zero Light Edition. I won’t soon forget its gorgeous backdrops and searing colors, but I also wasn’t hooked by its gameplay loop. This could be exactly what you are looking for, for those who enjoy stealth games. As for me, I will remember it less for its mechanics and more as if it were a painting.

This game left me with mixed feelings. While the interesting story and overall atmosphere—enhanced by a great soundtrack and visuals—are very appealing, the developers didn’t quite manage to blend them seamlessly with the gameplay elements. The high-quality presentation alone probably won’t save you from all the repetitive and shallow content in the levels you’ll be grinding through. While I have no doubt I’ll return to Vesper at some point, it certainly won’t be for its thrilling and original gameplay.

Every once in a while, a little gem drops onto your review list. Vesper is one such gem. It’s one of those games that stays with you long after you finish playing. It's a truly beautiful game to look at, but with slow pacing and puzzles that never really hit the mark it's hard to recommend Vesper.

Vesper is a platform game that will bring you a pleasant experience and at the same time simplicity. The game is a worthy experience because of its narrative type, and every time you start it again, you will find a new theme.

Overall. Vesper is a highly impressive indie platformer. Its stunning visuals and mysterious game world will likely immediately hook the player, while its gameplay hits a sweet spot that will maintain that interest throughout its short runtime. It may sometimes go into comfortable spaces seen by other games in the genre, but even so there's more than enough flair here to make Vesper worthwhile.
