Honestly, Viking Frontiers is an unfinished game that should never have made its way to consoles. I have a soft spot for other games of its ilk, such as Bellwright and Sengoku Dynasty. But this is one I absolutely cannot recommend this. There are countless games in the survival genre worthy of your time, but Viking Frontiers is not one of them. As much as it pains me to say this, Viking Simulator, unfortunately, is getting the ThumbCulture Broken Award.

Viking Frontiers introduces some promising ideas. While it succeeds in certain areas, it falls short in others. Building and expanding your village is genuinely satisfying, but sluggish controls, a sparse world, and several noticeable bugs too often get in the way of what could have been a much more enjoyable survival experience.
