Why play it

Love, betrayal, and coffee! Zipp's Café is a "noir & chill" little game about a café between the city of animals and the district of insects. Make unusual recipes, get involved in shady dealings, and try to start a new life while searching for love and revenge.

Story and worldbuilding

Can you really change? Can you escape your past? Can you find love? Can you handle betrayal? But most importantly... can you make the best coffee in all the Wilderness? Meet 5 strange characters and discover what connects them. Talk to them, and - whether you like it or not - get caught up in their lives. Immerse yourself into 3 minigames with completely different moods and mechanics. Brew the most special coffees or teas, prepare unique meals, and... wash the dishes... (Because someone has to do the dishes too, you know.)

Zipp’s Café is an enjoyable (albeit short) adventure set within the wild world of the Chicken Police games. It does quite a bit within its short runtime to connect the events of the first game to the upcoming sequel, which will no doubt appease the fans (like myself) until the next full installment is released. However, it also delivers a compelling story on its own merit, making it an intriguing standalone game in its own right.

The repetitive minigames that occupy a significant portion of the gameplay in Zipp's Cafe tend to hinder its charm, despite the narrative potential that flickers through its admittedly dry dialogues. While the game succeeds to some extent in immersing players into its expansive setting, the lackluster routine of food and drink preparation, coupled with insufficiently developed characters, makes it challenging to feel drawn into becoming a frequent visitor.
