Story and worldbuilding

A long time ago, a prophecy was foretold across the Earth. It predicted that a massive asteroid would collide with the planet in the next century. An asteroid so large, that it would obliterate all life on Earth. And so it did. After the cataclysm, an alien bacteria was released from the remains of the asteroid. It quickly multiplied and spread across the world. The bacteria absorbed the DNA of humans and animals, creating new forms of life. Their intelligence grew, and so did their size and technology. As a result, a new race of thriving bacteria inhabited the Earth, forming a peaceful colony. Many years later... The Earth finally became habitable for human life again. Four human survivors, lucky enough to escape the asteroid, could finally return to Earth. Not knowing what was in store for them...
