Blood Bar Tycoon is an unconventional, clever, and lighthearted tycoon game built on a strong concept, solid mechanics, and great humor. It isn’t the biggest game in its genre, but it is one of the most memorable—precisely because of its stylization and personality. It can be funny, suspenseful, and laid-back, all while still offering plenty of challenges. If you like management games, enjoy thematic originality, and aren’t afraid of a little blood in your designer cocktail, this establishment definitely shouldn’t escape your attention. And most importantly—finally, a bar where no one gives you a weird look when you order a “triple-shaken 0.”

A tycoon game about building a bar for vampires is a great idea - but sadly the execution here leaves a lot to be desired. The management gameplay is a bit too simple for my liking, but it's the constant game-breaking bugs that really suck the fun out of the experience.

It takes a certain amount of creativity to make your management simulator stand out from the crowd in a genre that has been so badly misfired over the years. Blood Bar Tycoon even gets there in this conceptual aspect, but it proves that a cool idea alone is not enough. What was missing was a more solid execution of the proposal, which has difficulty developing amidst so many technical problems and creative decisions. It has potential and room for improvement, something that the developers are committed to putting into practice for now, but it's a little hard to consider it positively in its current state, since all of its good ideas ended up being poorly executed. How much we miss early access before the final release, huh?

Overall, Blood Bar Tycoon is a great management game. I like how it’s simple and doesn’t become over bearing with tonnes of things to track all at once. The game itself runs great and I enjoy the various characters, animations, and visual themes it has. It reminds me of Two Point Hospital and if you’re looking for an easy to learn management, then Blood Bar Tycoon isn’t a bad shout. There are a few tweaks it could do with, however. For example, you can’t place furniture right by windows, especially when there is space. Some objects like the Cells placement square (the one where it shows the sizes) is a little off centre. And I wish we could place walls in already established rooms. Now, besides the stuff mentioned above, I am really enjoying it. That’s why I’m giving it the Thumb Culture Gold Award.

Blood Bar Tycoon offers a refreshing change of pace in the business simulation genre by combining the management of a vampire bar with humorous and dark elements. Unfortunately, the game often feels like an early access title with unfinished game mechanics and bugs.

It may not hit the heights of other giants in the business simulation genre, but Blood Bar Tycoon has plenty of personality and good management gameplay to keep it afloat. Who knew serving vampires and chewing on lowly humans could be this joyful and light-heartedly fun?
