Fatal Claw starts slowly, but its appeal grows as new abilities open up its vast underground world. Distinct regions, flexible exploration, and satisfying traversal make uncovering the map consistently rewarding, while boss fights encourage players to find strategies that suit their own strengths. Despite some early pacing issues, its striking 2D visuals and challenging but approachable design make it a strong entry point into the tougher side of the Metroidvania genre.
