From the very beginning, Chip 'N Clawz vs. The Brainioids never aimed to compete with big-budget blockbusters. Still, the game succeeds in what it set out to do. With its colorful atmosphere, charming designs, smooth performance, and family-friendly tone, the experience stays consistently pleasant and stress-free. That said, a bit more detail and variety in some areas could have made it even more memorable.
Read full review ↗It may not be the most revolutionary title on the market, but Chip’n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is a game that knows exactly what it wants to be: pure, unadulterated fun. The charming graphics, humorous dialogue, and atmosphere create the perfect blend. Although the strategic aspect isn’t as strong and the game sometimes feels a bit too easy, I had a great time playing it. There are plenty of collectibles to keep you busy, and with numerous updates on the way, you’re sure to have a few hours of fun. In short: a game that pleasantly surprised me.

Read full review ↗Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids definitely feels like it could be one in a series of games. But this being just the first, I would say it is worthwhile checking out. It runs well on PC, Steam Deck, and is available for PS5 and Xbox. It’s a beautiful 3D action adventure with a flair of strategic management. If anything, maybe more focus on keeping up with your strategy could be in order. Maybe that’s just me. Definitely deserving of the Thumb Culture Gold Award.

I can tell it's not for me, and I can only imagine playing it again when I have some mates over – but I have a lot of time for games that contribute to the evolution of a genre. I would recommend giving it a go if you have ever been a fan of RTS, just to appreciate the novelty – or if you want an accessible entry into the genre. But you might need to be more familiar with MOBAs and Fortnite, and more open to the aesthetic than myself to love it.
Read full review ↗Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids is a delightful blend of action and strategy that doesn’t take itself too seriously. With its playful story, colourful world, and flexible gameplay, it’s a great pick for families, co-op sessions, or anyone just looking for a good upbeat time. It may not present itself as overly deep and thought-provoking, but sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.
Read full review ↗Chip n' Claws vs. The Brainioids is a fun mashup of RTS and action gameplay. It does have a fun gameplay loop, though it can be a bit overwhelming.
Read full review ↗Chip ‘n Clawz vs. The Brainioids isn’t a massive, sprawling epic—it’s a mid-sized game with a clever hook. The fusion of action and RTS works, the humor lands more often than not, and the comic-book world is a joy to explore. But the short campaign and lack of multiplayer bots keep it from truly shining as a long-term staple. If you’re looking for something fresh, colorful, and co-op friendly, this is easy to recommend—especially if you have a buddy for couch co-op. If you’re buying solely for PvP, though, you may want to wait for updates or a larger player base.
