Deadliest Catch: The Game seems from the first minute to be a rip-off of the creators themselves, which simply does not offer anything of substance to the player

If you're a hardcore fan of Deadliest Catch, you might-might-eke some enjoyment from the video game version's lazy simulation of the tasks. However, you'd have a much better time just watching the show with a controller in your hand, and pretending. You might get a more responsive experience, too.

Deadliest Catch: The Game is easily one of the worst games I have played this year, or any year for that matter. There is literally no redeeming feature here - fans of the show will likely be outraged at how badly the license has been handled, and simulation fans will be let down by the downright broken state this game was released in.

Buried beneath all of the issues I had with Deadliest Catch: The Game is actually something potentially good. It’s probably not helped that this title was released on multiple platforms at launch, and it’s likely this was a tiny development team just doing the best they could. It just doesn’t feel ready for release, at least on Switch. With all of the issues ironed out, I would see this being a pretty good crab fishing game that would likely please its fan base and those just looking for another busybody title to pass the time till you need to go to your real job. But as it stands, it’s not something I can recommend, but I really enjoyed looking up the show online.

Deadliest Catch: The Game had the almost admirable ability to make me not want to either take up crab fishing in real life, nor to find out what the eventual endgame of its videogame counterpart was.

While many may have dreams of virtually enjoying the full Dutch Harbor experience, this is simply a tedious mess

I must confess that I have never watched the Deadliest Catch TV show but upon hearing the game’s title, I was intrigued. I envisioned hunting down a vicious shark, the waves smashing the boat and travelling at breakneck speeds. It was certainly a surprise when I discovered that the “deadly catch” comes in the form of crab-fishing but is the game on troubled waters? Find out in this Rapid Review.

A boring game, badly optimized and very lacking in content. A few minutes of gameplay are enough to get a general idea of the game and what it has to offer, which is rather little. Only for very fans of the series and jobs simulators.
