With plenty of replay value to be had through mission rankings, in-game collectibles and a vast list of missions to undertake, Dustoff Heli Rescue 2 certainly offers plenty of aerial bang for its buck. The mission template does repeat a little too often, but thankfully the art of maneuvering your helicopter around each level often elevates whatever cookie cutter goal you've tasked with completing. Silly and challenging in equal measure, this little port makes a relatively painless landing on Nintendo Switch.

Dustoff Heli Rescue 2 has enough to provide some entertainment over its long lifespan and variety of missions and as its gameplay does not demand too much in terms of time, it's also a rather simple game. However it would definitely benefit from more individual character, rather than following Minecraft in so many ways and its control system can cause some problems to the players.

The core flight feels good and each mission is an appropriately brief length that lends itself well to casual, quick play sessions. That makes it easy for me to overlook that it didn't land without some turbulence.

Despite a bumpy start, Dustoff Heli Rescue II is a decent little game for the Switch. I found more enjoyment here than I expected, and it's also tougher than it seems at first glance. Despite some flaws, which keep the game from being great, there is definitely fun to be had here.

Overall I think the style of play will either be something that appeals to you and sounds fun or may not be quite what you’re looking for. The more familiarity you have with classic games like Choplifter and some others the more nostalgia will likely help keep your interest, but without that kind of pull I could see the missions getting a bit repetitive after a while. Among the many shooters now on the Switch it has a play style all its own, you’ll just need to determine if it is a good fit for you.

If you’re looking to harness your inner rescue pilot and take a chance to reign terror from above onto the enemy forces below, then Dustoff Heli Rescue 2 should be checked out.

Dustoff Heli Rescue 2 is a typical game that comes out of nowhere and completely hooks me. I love how each mission has objectives that pose an enjoyable challenge with no ambiguity.
