Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! isn't anything we haven't already seen before. Forging and selling weapons is fun once you get into the rhythm of it, and there's plenty within the potato world to work towards. This is a game that can be played for a few minutes or hours per day, depending on how much you enjoy the genre. What's frustrating is how this title has been adapted to the Switch. It's got a clunky user interface that doesn't really feel compatible with the Joy-Cons and even if you opt with the screen by itself as a touchpad it still feels difficult to complete the most basic of tasks. All up, this makes it the hardest version of the game to play. Overlooking these problems, it's still worth checking out if you're looking for a game of this type and one with plenty of humour - it's just far from spud-tacular.

When I received this game for review, I had this marvelous exchange with my wife about it! Ceidz: “Hey I received a new game for review!” Wife: “Really? What kind of game is it?” Ceidz: “How can I put this….? (thinking) Well, you're a potato…. and you're running this weapon shop…” Wife: “LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL”

Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! has plenty of humor and addicting gameplay, just don't in expecting anything different.

Maybe that means I should get back to the grindstone, clear up those PS4 trophies, and then tackle the Journey to Olympus DLC that is included in the PS4 and Switch releases.

Management with many options with a smooth learning curve, wrapped in a mood that pulls constantly nostalgia and a considerable content that comes to demand a lot from the player with its expansion included. Holly Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! hides much more than you might expect at first glance.

I feel like this genre is better suited for PCs or even tablets rather than portable gaming systems because it feels too cluttered for the Switch's screen and not comfortable on any television. The core gameplay definitely works how you'd expect and you'll find plenty of tasks to accomplish. Maybe this would be a good one to jump in and out of while making some potato salad. Yum.

It’s a management sim you can really get absorbed into and stay there for many hours at a time or just drop in every now and again for short bursts – particularly if you’re on the Switch. From the micro-management of your employees to satisfying all of your customers, everything can be adjusted and tweaked in order to become the greatest arms supplier in the land! One thing to be aware of though, the pun is strong in this one with almost every character being a pun of someone/something famous. If you like hilarious storytelling along with frantic and rather stressful gameplay, then this is the game for you! With the addition of the Herclueless DLC you gain even more content and many, many hours of gameplay.
