An intriguing concept for a multiplayer shooter that ultimately fails to excite, where you're more creatively constrained than you might initially think.

Lemnis Gate is a game at odds with itself. Its well-executed time loop mechanics could potentially appeal beyond the usual hardcore shooter crowd, but the game's matchmaking shortcomings and lack of single-player content will keep that wider audience at arm's length. Lemnis Gate is fun, but it feels like a concept that needed more resources to fully realize its promise. That said, if you are a dedicated shooter fan looking for something a little different, you may find yourself doing the time warp again (and again and again).

Lemnis Gate's incredibly innovative turn-based FPS concept makes it something truly unique and the potential sleeper hit of the year.

Lemnis Gate carries with it many of the tried-and-true aspects of a team shooter that have become beloved in the genre while adding a unique timeline element that makes it its own unique entity. If it weren't for its shockingly low population of active players, this one seems like it would become a fan favorite.

Lemnis Gate is perfect for those who love FPS and strategy games, or anyone tired of recycled FPS mechanics.

If you’re a fan of the casual FPS format typical of games like Overwatch or Apex Legends but are keen for something new, Lemnis Gate will provide plenty of entertainment.

Lemnis Gate is a unique, strategic, turn-based first-person shooter that has some good things going for it. The mechanics work well together and trying out different operatives and strategies is fun for sure. That said, there isn’t a ton of content here and whether there will be anyone to play against will depend on whether Ratloop can push out ongoing content to keep players coming back.

Lemnis Gate gets a lot right when all the stars align and you're able to get into the game without a hitch. However, at least on PS5, the game has quite a few hiccups that prevent the player from ever reaching the fun twist on your run of the mill shooter.

My expectations for Lemnis Gate were big, but my curiosity was even better. After all, how could it mix two genres so different in a fun and remarkable game? The answer was laudable, as can be checked in this timing strategy FPS with good gameplay, beautiful graphics and unique mechanics. There are some things that can be improved upon, especially when it comes to the online and balancing, but it's already a recommended option for your library and it may make the most out of its potential in the future.
