Newt One

Newt one has an interesting gameplay premise, regretfully that's all it ends up becoming. You're sure to entertain yourself for a while with the neat power-ups and collection of achievements to unlock. However, the game gets to be a bit too repetitive and the controls are a bit too loose to get full enjoyment from. Newt One's a great game if you want something relaxing and colorful, but it won't satisfy all fans of the platformer genre.

The premise is about restoring color to the world and bringing back music, but the music doesn't match the levels, and is missing sound effects. Newt's story is weirdly paced, and has a lot of unnecessary details that don't add anything to it. In short, unnecessary details trip up Newt One from being something interesting.

While the Switch certainly has some noteworthy family-friendly titles that isn't to say they're available in great abundance...
