Overall, Paw Paw Paw is a decent beat ’em up that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and its price is commensurate with the few hours you’ll spend playing it. You’ll often have to replay missions because you’ll run into some damn tough enemies, but the short levels help alleviate that stress. The variety within the levels is also really good, but it would be nice to have more moves available. Unfortunately, everything is let down by the weak AI of your companions and unreliable hit detection.

You're going to have a love-hate relationship with Paw Paw Paw. The story is wacky but not necessarily funny, with a presentation that's at odds with itself. The combat is easy to grasp but has a tendency to frustrate. The campaign is lengthy but feels too long due to the repeated backgrounds and long grind needed to handle the abrupt difficulty spikes. If you're not too discerning about your beat-'em-ups, then the game is a decent way to while away a weekend. Otherwise, you might want to hold off until you've at least beaten some other, better genre titles first.

Paw Paw Paw is a game that I have loved trying. It has a witty dialogue running through its story, interesting characters to encounter, some become friends but a lot are foes, and addictive gameplay. Its lack of balancing for solo gamers will be its downside, and if it wasn’t for the fact that I really enjoyed my time with it, I would have put it down a long time ago. So with all this being said, do I recommend that you try it? I do! I’ve had lots of fun with it, and I believe that anyone who buys it, will also. Can you and your fellow rebels overcome King Bunnylord III’s terrible plans, or like me, are you destined to be stuck right near the end?

Paw Paw Paw is a beat'em up, long, lasting, varied and loaded with content. Some problems in its gameplay and its mechanics can frustrate us more than amuse us, but the fact of leveling up the characters and equipping us with new weapons is addicting.

It was a lot of fun to go ahead and learn more about the unusual world of animals that don't want to wear pants, in an adventure that holds good surprises, such as the presence of mounts, the possibility of hiring henchmen and even local multiplayer. It is not something that I would recommend to everyone, but it can be a good option if you enjoy beating, action, upgrades and, especially, an eccentric and fun story.

Sometimes, genre standards exist for a very good reason. Paw Paw Paw is an adorable beat-em-up about an animal resistance fighting against a king insistent on getting everyone in his kingdom into pants, but it makes the mistake of forgetting to include invincibility frames, which means that you can be damaged by several enemies at the same time, dying instantly to endgame opponents whenever they attack at the same time. This isn’t just possible, but more likely than not to occur every time you play through late-game levels thanks to the introduction of opponents who resist stun when attacked, allowing them to kill you instantly in the middle of your attack.
