When you strip away its modern veneer (which you can do at the press of a button), SiN: Reloaded remains a beautiful, deeply embarrassing love letter to a time when game developers designed primary characters by binging their own childhood bangers on VHS. It’s a screeching relic of turn-of-the-century machismo, completely detached from the self-serious, emotional maturity that modern entertainment seems to aspire to. John Blade doesn’t have a tragic backstory. He has roid biceps, a Dredd-like gun, and Seth Green character acting as his Mission Control. Long-standing fans of the series will note that this isn’t exactly a giant leap forward after SiN: Gold, but after finishing that version last year, I can confirm that the remastered release has been improved enough to be entertaining for its 8-hours-or-so playtime.

Read full review ↗SiN: Reloaded brings back a cult classic with improved textures, modernized controls, and the same interactive level design that made the original stand out. Exploring environments, hacking terminals, uncovering clues, and making choices that affect later missions remain some of its strongest features.
Read full review ↗Sin was never a great game. Beneath all its flaws, though, Ritual Entertainment’s creation had something worth saving: ambition, personality, and the unmistakable feeling of a team eager to push the technology and do things differently. It also had plenty of cheese. No, Sin Reloaded isn’t a completely new game, but that was never its intention. It’s the same uneven, strangely memorable experience - only now one can enjoy it in 4K and pretend that was what was missing all along.

Read full review ↗SiN Reloaded resurrects a forgotten 1998 shooter with sharper visuals, a toggle back to the original look, and just enough charm to awake a nostalgia in you if you're an older gamer or a curiosity if you're a younger one.
Read full review ↗SiN Reloaded brings one of its generation's most overlooked "boomer shooters" back to modern platforms, featuring the comprehensive improvements Nightdive always brings to its re-releases. The title, however, still retains much of its original DNA, including certain design choices from its era. The developer could have made an extra effort to add features that might have further enhanced the experience, but what we have here is already a good way to experience this quirky game.

Read full review ↗SiN Reloaded retains the core of the original: expansive levels, alternate paths, terminals to use, and choices that can impact subsequent missions.
