Super Onion Boy 2

I enjoy playing action-platformers and was super excited after seeing trailers for Super Onion Boy 2. The trailers showed a variety of powerups, various boss fights, and interesting level aspects. I was intrigued and went in with high expectations. Did this game live up to the hype? Find out in this Rapid Review.

Super Onion Boy 2 is an enjoyable platformer. The fact that it's a blatant love letter to Mario's adventures works in its favor. It may not be hard, and it's over fairly quickly, but this budget title will provide a couple of hours of fun for genre fans.

As far as indie 2D platformers go, Super Onion Boy 2 is certainly one of the better ones with its simple yet varied gameplay and adorable game world. If it were less linear and included a run button, I'd consider it to be an excellent game.

Super Onion Boy 2 is an extremely simple and fun game that is capable of putting good smiles on its short playing time, despite being lacking in terms of originality. The game won't hold you for long and there's certainly not much to do other than complete all the stages with the maximum possible score, but the journey to the end is a light experience and capable of becoming an adventure with good layers fun.
