Perhaps the only blemish, then, is the character design. The twosome don't really match up with the art style they're walking through; their depictions look simplistic compared to what's around them. However, they don't take away from what is a pleasant — if a bit too basic — adventure you could get through in an afternoon.

Voyage is a beautiful cinematic adventure game and a good first start for developer Venturous. While I enjoyed my short time with it I wish it had a bit more variety to the gameplay, lasted a bit longer, and let the characters move a bit faster. You should also be prepared to figure out everything on your own whether it be the story or how to play. If you’re OK with all that then you’ll find an enjoyable world to explore in Voyage either alone or with a local friend.

Voyage is probably the first game I've ever played from Ratalaika where its visuals are so good that they make the game worth playing, even if the gameplay itself isn't that challenging or exciting. It may not mean that you need to stop what you're doing right now to play Voyage, but it does mean that if you decide to pick this game up, you may get a lot more out of it than you could've possibly expected going in.

Voyage is not going to challenge your brain, it won't make your palms sweat or give you a boost of adrenaline from snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. It doesn't last a hundred hours with half a dozen DLCs to keep you busy. It's just a pretty and moving game that will keep you entertained for a couple of hours. It's not pretending to be anything else and it's all the better for it.

Voyage is an indie game for all ages that’s worth a trip if you’re looking for casual exploration in a stunningly beautiful 2D world. It’s unfortunate that the title can be finished so quickly and is occasionally tedious, but the journey is still pretty nice while it lasts.

Your adventure will only last a few short hours, but the length feels right as anything much longer would start to get tedious. If you’re looking for something beautiful and relaxing, check out Voyage.

Voyage is a pleasant little journey with fantastic music and superb art direction. But with little to do, it isn’t much of an actual video game. While Voyage can be a fun experience, it isn’t worth the current asking price. Those interested in the PlayStation 4 version should wait for a major sale or potential future giveaway.

This co-op adventure has great visual style but issues with consistency in its challenge and puzzle design let it down

Voyage is a wonderful piece of art that will wow you visually and sonically at every turn. It’s the gameplay that sadly holds it back from greatness. An awesome debut, Venturous are a developer to watch.

With the wonderful growth of narrative games, experience-games, cinematic-games... You name it! In these years of independent releases, Voyage is not going to surprise you with its premise. And neither will it in its execution. Its values are a meritorious artistic performance, and offering that trip in a local cooperative, now also on all the consoles that are still alive. Whoever travels alone -as has been my case- will see faults, will not see more things, although the end of the adventure will be worthwhile. But whoever does it accompanied, will be two hours of their own for both people, giving even more meaning to what we do not see when we are alone.
