There is a lot to see and do here, and the fact that you can now play as a variety YouTuber – as opposed to be restricted to a single career – adds diversity to your day-to-day activities. But once you wrap your head around the flow and formula of the foray, it all becomes a bit of a grind. Perhaps there’s some meta-commentary from the developer here: that chasing trends for fame is less glamorous than it looks.

Youtubers Life 2 is a deeper experience than the first game and is a solid new addition to the life simulation genre. There is plenty to do to keep you busy while trying to rise through the Youtuber ranks but to me it got a bit repetitive.

The foundation of YouTubers Life 2 is pretty surprisingly solid. However, there are some issues that made the overall experience less enjoyable for me. I really regret that this title was not better tailored for the power level of the Switch console; considering how smoothly some other big titles like Animal Crossing can play on it, it was a big letdown. That being said, the game was fun and worth playing. It had quite a lot to do and is definitely worth the price tag.

Youtubers Life 2 turns out to be a sequel that tries to be more and better than the original, but in the end it is only more. To the errors of the first are added some new ones, resulting in a title that will bore after a few hours.

There’s an audience for YouTubers Life 2, certainly, but due to a series of odd choices, it’s not the same audience that fell in love with YouTubers Life. With the freedom of running around town comes the restriction of what videos you can actually make for your channel, which will frustrate those coming from its predecessor. If you’re in high school, love farming sims, and haven’t played the first title, this could very well be your next gaming obsession; for everyone else, be sure to like, subscribe, and check back later when the bugs have been fleshed out.

‎However, Youtubers Life 2 is built from ‎‎the idealization of everything that surrounds the world at hand.‎‎ After all, if we set our sights on reality, it can be much more complicated if you do not have the patience and perseverance necessary. Because like any other job, it requires effort and sacrifices. Likewise, the results can be short or long term depending on how much dedication and luck we have, but the key to success will always be the content and everything we are willing to give.‎

Youtubers Life 2 is an excellent leap forward from its predecessor which introduces much more interaction with the world and with our work as content creators, in an optimal formula that generates a good experience with the title.

The developers promised some changes, which they actually added to the title. However, some of the new features of the game are not what I expected. The freedom to move around the city is certainly a great improvement, but some of the missions could have been made more interesting and fun. So I give the second installment a 7/10 again, as the creators didn't disappoint me with this title, but they didn't impress me either.

While the original YouTubers Life was certainly novel there was just something about it that felt more one-dimensional to me overall so it didn’t quite click for me...

YouTuber’s Life 2 is quite evidently a step up from the previous game, most notably with the glossy open world map and unique characters. Unfortunately, the drawbacks in the form of poor tutorials and questionable mechanics such as the energy system left me trying to grapple with the controls and understand the game more than anything else. These issues completely sapped my motivation to keep playing, and there’s no telling whether it will improve by increasing the subscriber count even more. Oh well, at least I got to hang out with Jeff Goldblum.
