Why play it

Retimed is a local multiplayer arena shooter for 2-4 players. When a player is in danger, time slows down and a time bubble is created around the player. Now there is enough time to react and try to dodge the deadly projectiles. These time bubbles generate exciting alternations between fast-paced movement and tension-filled slowmotion moments.

Team Maniax has delivered on creating a cute, but frenzied party title that simplifies the act of dodging bullets, and making it look cool while doing so. With easy controls to learn, and only having one focus, the barrier for entry in Retimed is low. Whether engaging in team battle with some friends, or taking part in a 'free for all,' there's a ton of energy and excitement to be had.

You've probably seen or played a game like Retimed, but the new mechanics it does bring to the table keep it interesting even among its contemporaries. While the single player is not fun or interesting and the online player base is non-existent, if you're looking for a new game to play with friends or at a party, Retimed is a good option.

Multiplayer indies are rarely as enjoyable as Retimed. Now that it's better than ever, it's a good idea to finally play it if you haven't yet.

Retimed is a unique slow-motion shooting game with vibrant characters and fun arenas. Despite having no single-player mode, this game is great with friends and allows hours of fun.

Retimed gets almost every gameplay-related aspect right, but the lack of a singleplayer mode is a problem. It's an extremely pleasant experience that fulfils what the developers wanted it to. It will be an even better game when it's completed.

It might not be an extraordinary or revolutionary game, but it's a good option for a local multiplayer experience to play every now and then. If you are looking for an entry-level or just a casual approach to the genre, this title might be for you, it's worth taking a look at it.

My family and I had a great time trying this out. My dad, who usually takes a bit to pick up on controls, even had fun playing. For anyone looking for a simple party game to add to their library, this is a great choice.

As a whole Retimed does a good job of hitting the targets it was aiming for and providing a pretty unique experience, unfortunately it’s impossible to not also note that the whole package is a bit thin. Most critical is that without online or bot support the opportunities to enjoy the game can be a bit limited, relying on the availability of family or friends to play it at all. While I really like the art direction it’s also a bit disappointing that there just aren’t that many stages or even character options to work with. If you regularly have some people available who are down for some multiplayer fun, and you can overlook the somewhat skimpy overall content it provides, Retimed can be an absolute blast and shows off some clever ideas. It’s just hard not to note that it has some real limitations all the same.

As far as platform fighters go, Retimed is a great effort. While a few different add-ons could have greatly expanded its shelf-life, I anticipate playing a few rounds here and there for months to come.
